The grueling assessment of Wall Street know-how is regarded as one of the most difficult tests out there, with candidates studying an average of 300 hours for each of the three exams in the series, which typically takes four years to complete.
Only about one in five people who embark on the stressful journey to complete the CFA program ultimately make it through all three levels and satisfy the other requirements to become a charter-holder. Passing the gauntlet of tests, which cover everything from accounting and economics to ethics and money management, can open doors that lead to better jobs and bigger paydays.
